Analysis of community-based practices to address food security shocks : A case study in 7 targeted districts in Rwanda.

EPRN Rwanda has collaborated with International Alert to undertake a research to understand community-based practices to address food security shocks in 7 targeted districts farmers.

The research has gathered information on the following :

• Food security shocks in 7 targeted districts are described and analyzed ;
• Community-based practices to address food security shocks are identified and analyzed ;
• Analysis of gender and socioeconomic related dynamics affecting farmers ‘households to food security shocks is done to inform food security policy implementation at the district level ;
• Areas of advocacy for local stakeholders and actors operating in the agriculture sector to boost community-based practices that contribute to addressing food security shocks in 7 targeted districts are described.

This research was done under the EU funded project entitled Farmers’ Voice Project (FVP or Ijwi ry’Abahinzi n’Aborozi) which is being implemented by International Alert and IMBARAGA since 2018.
