UNILAK Kigali

The Public lecture on “National Strategy Transformation (NST 1) and vision 2050” was organized by the Economic Policy Research Network (EPRN) and attracted more than 280 students and lectures from UNILAK Kigali. This public lecture was held on 19th February, 2020 from 11am-1pm at UNILAK Kigali.

The public lecture started by the welcoming remarks of Mr NIYONKURU Richard acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance and International Cooperation. In his speech, he thanked EPRN for organizing this public lecture as it is a good opportunity not only for students but also for everyone who is in the field of economics. He also stressed the significance of instilling a culture of doing research among Rwanda’s youth and thanked all the participants for their commitment to EPRN Research driven programs and encouraged more students to join EPRN.

TURAYISHIMIYE Leandre from MINECOFIN, he present about NTS 1 vision 2050 for show us how the student can prepare his/her plan by focusing to the vision of country also he educate the pillar of NST 1 and show us the bridge between 2020 and 2050. By the end the student ask different questions about the NST1 and vision 2050.

Representative of EPRN student chapter, TUYISHIME Samuel delivered a presentation about the history of EPRN Students Chapter as an opportunity for students to learn more about current economic topics, linking students with professional researchers, internships, trainings, student competitions and many more. Also he established student chapter at UNILAK Kigali and coordinated the election of committee of student chapter group.

The closing remark was Mr. RUDATEBWA Telesphole acting as Director of Library reminded the participants that being an EPRN member or researcher is not only for economist students rather all students from whatever options in UNILAK can be an affiliate and conduct a given research as far as he/she is able and capable to do so. He also proclaimed that ‘those who fascinated in becoming future research, EPRN is one of the approach to attain their dreams.”
