EPRN conducted a professional training on M&E

A training course program on “Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation and Reporting of Projects” organized by EPRN took place at UR-CBE/Gikondo campus from the 08th to 10th February, 2019. The training was officially opened by Mr. Seth Kwizera, EPRN Coordinator. He welcomed all participants to the training and wished all of the participants a wonderful training and promised a good roll out of the training in terms of facilitation.

The trainer was Mr. Agaba Broad, an experienced expert in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Reporting of Projects who currently works as Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at Edify Rwanda.

The course was attended by 12 participants including research fellows, independent consultants, government experts and experts from civil society organizations.

The principal training objective was to ensure participants have enhanced capacity and understanding in the areas of planning, results-based monitoring and evaluation, reporting and impact evaluation. Through this course, EPRN members and other interested experts acquired knowledge and skills of how to plan a development project, using the Logical Framework Approach, and how to design an M&E plan.

This training course was run in a workshop style with a high degree of participant involvement. Group works have been interspersed with input sessions. Adult learning methodology has been employed, and participants were very active. Throughout the course, debate and discussion were encouraged. The trainer mostly played a role of facilitator, and under his guidance, the participants were able to learn from and share with each other.
